Ecovillage is a residential complex environmentally friendly, bio and eco-friendly in which every element, from the urban to the green, from lighting to plant engineering, construction details of the property and the choice of materials; It has a functional role to protect the environment, the welfare of the person in and out of the house. A new awareness of life which would reduce energy consumption and pollution.
The residences of Ecovillage were built according to the criteria, protocols and construction methods specified by the Protocol PHI Italia – Passive House Institute Italia.
Main Construction Features
Energy Class A and A+
From 1 July 2008, in Italy, it became mandatory energy certification for new buildings (Implementing Decree Law 156/2008).
This certification gives the buildings a class depending on the energy requirement of primary energy consumption expressed in kWh per sqm/year.
The first residences built in Ecovillage are energetically classified in Class A and A+. Besides the advantage of to safeguard against fluctuations in the prices of raw materials for the production of energy, given the small demand (25/40 kWh and 15/24 kWh per sqm/year against 175 kWh per sqm/year of ‘traditional residences’), this certification provides an economic return because of lower consumption.
Formwork Block Wood Cement
Exterior and interior bearing walls made with blocks Formwork Wood Cement – fir wood recovery from pallets and sawmill scraps of mineralized with Portland cement 99% pure – certified and comply with the requirements of ecological design and green building.
The blocks formwork concrete wood are laid dry, thereby eliminating the various drawbacks caused by the use of the mortar, subsequently filled with concrete, thus ensuring an excellent load-bearing structure. The structural characteristics we recommend the use also in seismic areas, since it has excellent resistance to earthquake, also of strong intensity.
Other features of the product are a great living comfort and significant energy savings, which translates into a lower cost of heating in winter and cooling in summer.
Heat Pump, Photovoltaic and Solar plants
The photovoltaic plant for the production of electricity, partially covering the already small consumption of the heat pump, thus meeting the energy consumption almost nil relatively to the heating of the building. The cost of the plant is then recovered with the Energy Bill, which encourages the program for operating the electricity produced by photovoltaic plants connected to the grid.
The solar thermal system, only present in some eco-residences of Ecovillage, has been sized to provide at least 60% of domestic hot water needs; the accumulation for the sanitary hot water, placed in the technical compartment, is connected both with the heat pump with which the solar thermal panels.
Mechanical Ventilation controlled air systems
The ACMV plant are systems that manage the spare room air to the outside. This is done without the opening of windows or doors, through forced ventilation ducts, associated with its interior by vacuums (for the removal of the stale air or polluted) and diffusers (for the placing of new air).
